ABOUT US
VOICE for India Foundation, shall be the much-wanted platform
to tap and harness this precious desire. Most of us feel that
the system is the villain. “Everybody in the system
breaks the law”, “nobody in India have civic sense”, “nobody
has time sense”, “everybody litters”… These phrases will
surely sound familiar.
Little do we
realize that we are a part of the system. We start pointing
fingers and feel that ‘others’ are found lacking in these
social codes of conduct and discipline. Firstly, we need to
ask whether WE follow these codes of conduct. Even if we do,
we see so many people around us with no discipline that we get
frustrated and unfortunately fall into the same old basket.
Unless a set of standards is defined and there is
a yardstick for identifying ‘good citizens’ where most of us
would like to belong. Unless we know that we are not alone in
maintaining some discipline but we are among a group of
people who think likewise. Today, we litter, because we think
that our good work will not make a difference, individually.
If you are a member of an anti-litter club you will have the
comfort feeling that you are not alone in your noble thoughts.
That will prevent you from littering.
VOICE for India is a club of such people who want
to make a change together, by doing what is required
than just sitting and blaming. We first ask the question if an
individual is a part of the problem or the solution. If they
are part of the solution, it makes better sense for all such
like-minded people to get together on a common platform and
address the issues together for a more effective solution.
We will invite membership to VOICE for India,
which is a club of ‘socially conscious’ people who are the
so-called disciplined people. The members of VOICE will swear
to abide by the laws of the land and the codes of conduct the
non-members. As the number of members increase, we will have
more and more disciplined, law-abiding, socially conscious
‘good citizens’ and hence make a difference.
What is VOICE?
VOICE is an
organization that has committed to improve the quality of life
of fellow citizens. The task is achieved by the involvement of
as many citizens as possible dealing with as many issues as
possible to make it truly a people’s movement. It is an active
network of common people like you and me who have this desire
to say “It is not about what the society has given us, but
what we can give the society.”
VOICE is an acronym for Voluntary Organization of
Integrated Community Enterprises. As the name suggests, it is
all about social enterprises involving various communities
that are all integrated together for a holistic solution for a
better society. And it is not forced upon anybody; it is a
voluntary organization and hence the name VOICE. We say “Give
your voice to your society and country. Give your Voice for
India”.
